The Week in Fashion: Zendaya Embarks on a Sporty Swiss Adventure

Welcome to the Week in Fashion, Bazaar’s at-a-glance guide to what the industry is talking about.

Zendaya Embarks on a Scenic Swiss Adventure in New On Campaign

Zendaya’s really been showing off her sporty side in 2024. Not only did she have everyone picking up a tennis racket with the romantic drama Challengers, the Emmy-winning actor has also recently become an ambassador for activewear brand On.

She announced her multiyear collaboration with the brand back in June, saying, “It’s no secret that I’ve been a big fan of On for a long time, so it’s a full-circle moment to make this partnership official.”

Now, she stars in a new campaign, where she takes the colorful pieces from her activation on a worldwide adventure, posing across the scenic Swiss Alps while taking part in a few mountaintop activities. If Zendaya can brave a workout in the Alps, we can do anything. Shop her collection with the brand.

Chloë Sevigny Hosts a Party for the Ecco × Natacha Ramsay-Levi Collection Drop

When you need a cool, fashionable figure to host your party, who better to call than Chloë Sevigny? Earlier this week, footwear brand Ecco released its Autumn/Winter 2024 collection with designer Natacha Ramsay-Levi, who has been a frequent collaborator and creative partner to the brand. To celebrate the release, a star-studded party was held in Bridges, New York, for which Ramsay-Levi recruited Sevigny to cohost.

Previously, Ramsay-Levi has held positions at Balenciaga, Louis Vuitton, and Chloé. At the last, she served as creative director until she left that post in 2020. Now, she often collaborates with Ecco, bringing her unique spin to the brand’s shoe styles, most recently including the Grainer, the Offroad, the Metropole, and the Sculpted.

In a statement at the launch party, Ramsay-Levi said, “The inspiration for this collection was like the previous ones—always to find a balance between form and function, and I always feel very safe with Ecco that the function is amazing and very strong. So, my point of view is to bring it something which is more joyful, colorful, bold, and graphic.”s

Jacquemus found a festive way to end the work week. Early this morning, the brand unveiled a new boutique, its first-ever in New York City, at 143 Spring Street. It has been fittingly deemed “the New York Boutique.”

As a way to celebrate the new 270-square-meter space, the brand began serving breakfast out of a futuristic truck on the street, including free croissants and juice for anyone who walked by. And more fun still, it opted for a Willy Wonka–style marketing move and is hiding four tickets inside a few of the breakfast bags, giving visitors the opportunity to win one of Jacquemus’s La Pochette Rond Carré bags for free.

The truck will be open every day through October 20, starting at 11:00 a.m. Eastern. The new boutique will be open Monday through Saturday from 11:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., and on Sunday from noon to 6:00 p.m.

Miu Miu Celebrates Its History of “Tales & Tellers” at Art Basel

This year at Art Basel, Miu Miu introduced “Tales & Tellers,” an exhibition conceived by artist Goshka Macuga and assembled by Elvira Dyangani Ose, director of MACBA and the Museu d’Art Contemporani de Barcelona.

In a description of the presentation, the brand said, “At the core of Miuccia Prada’s Miu Miu is a fascination with the lives of women: their experiences, their histories, their tales. This has always included culture, alongside fashion: in 2011, Miu Miu Women’s Tales launched, platforming female filmmakers to present their own views of the plurality of femininity. And since 2021, the biannual Miu Miu runway show has been reshaped as a forum for dialogue with artists through installations and motion image, exploring multiple ideas but always returning to an understanding of women. In ‘Tales & Tellers,’ every film commission—Miu Miu Women’s Tales short films and videos taken from the artistic interventions from runway shows since Spring/Summer 2022—is represented by a character, directly extracted from these collaborations.”

To celebrate this event, Miu Miu hosted a vernissage at the Palais d’Iéna followed by a dinner at Maxim’s, where the esteemed list of guests included every female director who has ever contributed to their film series.

Now, the presentation will be open from October 16 to 20 from 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the Palais d’Iéna. The space will also feature a continuous performance throughout each day, which lasts for about 80 minutes in total.

NASA’s new space suits are getting the luxury touch. As a group of astronauts prepare to make a return trip to the moon in 2026, Axiom Space and Prada debuted a preview of the new Axiom Extravehicular Mobility Uni space suit earlier this week at the International Astronautical Congress in Milan.

These chic, modernized suits are designed to keep the astronauts safe, while also allowing for more mobility. They’ll also include other special features like lights, an HD camera, 4G/LTE service, and in-suit food options.

This collaboration with a luxury brand is not the only historic part of the trip. When Artemis III heads to the moon, Christina Koch will be the first woman ever to walk on the lunar surface. MAnother member, Victor Glover, will be the first person of color to do the same.

Former Harper’s Bazaar Stylist Linda Rodin Shops Out Her Closet

For many years, beloved model, entrepreneur, and fashion icon Linda Rodin served as a stylist for Harper’s Bazaar. Now, she’s giving her followers the opportunity to dress like a fashion stylist.

From October 17 to 20, Rodin is clearing out her wardrobe and hosting a closet sale at Bond 07 by Selima, on 7 Bond Street in New York. Every day from noon to 6:00 p.m., fashion fanatics can peruse the lively stylist’s clothes and take home pieces for themselves.

And if you needed any further reason to visit the sale, just consider this quote from Rodin, given to Porter in 2020: “I think young women can’t believe I’m older than their mothers, and yet they still want what I’m wearing. And for older women, I think there’s a sense of ‘Well, if she can dress like that, then so can I!’ ”

Sophie Bille Brahe Releases Second Glassware Collection Through Moda Operandi

You might have heard of Sophie Bille Brahe, the fine jewelry company that offers Scandinavian minimalism for the modern consumer. Its eponymous founder has just launched her second glassware collection through Moda Operandi.

The 10-piece collection consists of iridescent vases and a scented candle, all of which feature a colorful elegance that will elevate any tablescape in your home. Each piece was handmade in Murano, Italy, and they represent the things Brahe loves, from floral motifs to a respect for precious materials.

After launching her first collection of glassware in 2023, Brahe was inspired to work with glassblowing artisans—and thus this newest collection, called “Cellophane Bouquet,” came to life. You can shop all the pieces on Moda Operandi’s site.
