Travel Advisory: Lane Reduction on State Route 28 in Inlet begins Oct. 21 –

The New York State Department of Transportation (NYS DOT) is advising motorists that State Route 28 will be reduced to one lane with alternating flows of traffic controlled by temporary signals between Park Road and Jasper Day Trail near Fifth Lake in the Town of Inlet, Hamilton County, beginning Monday, Oct. 21. The lane reduction is necessary to facilitate the installation of a new retaining wall and is expected to take four weeks, weather permitting.

Motorists will encounter a temporary three color traffic signal and should be prepared to stop.  Accommodations will be made for pedestrians, as the sidewalk will be closed in the immediate area of the retaining wall work during construction. Motorists should use caution when traveling through any work zone. Lives are on the line; slow down and move over for highway workers.
