Support Young Women Leaders
From Nov. 1 to 16, shoppers at Max Mara will receive a 10% discount on purchases, with 10% of the proceeds going to The Community Chest’s Young Women’s Leadership Program.

The Chest encourages the development of young women leaders at an early age, fostering community involvement throughout their lives. Each year, the organization presents Young Women’s Leadership awards to high school juniors and seniors who identify as female and either reside or attend school in eastern Bergen County.

The Legacy of the Elizabeths
The awards honor the legacy of three women named Elizabeth—Elizabeth Cutter Morrow, Elizabeth Morrow Morgan, and Elizabeth Cady Stanton. Morrow, an Englewood resident, was the founding board chair of The Community Chest during the Great Depression. Morgan, founder of The Elisabeth Morrow School, grew up in Englewood. Stanton, a Tenafly resident, was a prominent leader in the women’s suffrage movement.

Neighbors Helping Neighbors
Founded in 1933, The Community Chest has raised more than $2 million—equivalent to $62 million when adjusted for inflation—and supported over 100 nonprofit organizations. The Chest provides aid to nonprofits addressing health and mental health services, hunger, arts programming, the environment, and volunteerism, reaching approximately 50,000 people annually in eastern Bergen County.
