Wilmington-area high school sports playoff brackets, scores for 2024 fall postseason
The 2024 Wilmington-area high school sports postseason is upon us.
With volleyball, girls tennis and track and field slated to kick off this week, the playoff season is finally here.
The NCHSAA announced schedule changes to the 2024 fall postseason last month. Those changes have pushed the association’s high school football and boys soccer postseasons back one week, but most other sports will get underway without delay.
Here, you will be able to find updated brackets, scores and more from every Wilmington-area playoff sport this fall. In just a couple of weeks, boys soccer and football will also begin the postseason. Follow along for the latest from area schools below.

Volleyball
The NCHSAA’s volleyball postseason includes six rounds of total play. For the first five rounds, games will be played at the higher seed’s campus. This year’s state championships will be played in Reynolds Coliseum on the campus of N.C. State.

NCHSAA 2A East Round 1: (Tuesday, Oct. 22)

Girls dual team tennis
The girls tennis dual-team state championships will be hosted at the Burlington Tennis Complex in Burlington on Nov. 9.

- No. 30 Wake Forest at No. 3 New Hanover
- No. 28 Laney at No. 5 Corinth Holders
- No. 21 Hoggard at No. 12 Green Level
- No. 19 Holly Springs at No. 14 Topsail
- NCHSAA 3A East Round 1: (Wednesday, Oct. 23)
- No. 32 West Brunswick at No. 1 Fike
NCHSAA cross country regionals
The 2024 NCHSAA cross country regionals will be hosted at four different sites for each classification (East, Mideast, Midwest and West) on Oct. 26. In the 4A East bracket, runners from Hoggard, Laney, Ashley, Topsail and New Hanover will compete at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary.

The private school postseason has already begun, with boys soccer entering Round 5 Tuesday.
