Huskers look to regroup, travel to #4 Ohio State this weekend

LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) – After the 56-7 shellacking against Indiana on Saturday, the Huskers will be looking for some answers this week. It doesn’t get any easier this weekend as the Huskers will hit the road to face #4 Ohio State Buckeye team that will be eager to see the field again after being idle this past weekend.

The Buckeyes (5-1, 2-1) only loss of the season was to now #1 Oregon in Eugene two weeks ago. It was a game that prompted the NCAA to make a rule change after the Ducks took advantage of a loop-hole when it comes to having too many defenders on the field. OSU is lead by transfer quarterback Will Howard, whose thrown for 1,600 yards on the year with 14 touchdowns to 3 interceptions. They have a pair of bruising tailbacks in Quinshon Judkins and TreVeyon Henderson. They also boast a freshmen phenom in WR Jeremiah Smith. Overall, the Buckeyes rank in the top 20 nationally in passing and rushing yards per game, 6th nationally in points per game, and 3rd nationally in allowing just 11 points per game.

Meanwhile, the Huskers will be looking for answers after allowing nearly 500 yards and 56 points to Indiana. The offense couldn’t muster much of anything in Bloomington, turning the ball over five times to the Hoosiers. The Huskers remain one win show of becoming bowl eligible.

Husker coaches and players will speak to the media throughout the week, including Coach Rhule on Monday and Thursday with coordinators and players taking the podium on Tuesday. Watch all those press conferences in the video player above as they become available.

The Huskers and Buckeyes are scheduled to kickoff at 11 a.m. on Saturday with another nationally televised game on FOX. The Huskers will be huge underdogs on the road, with the opening spread according to ESPN Bet favoring the Ohio State by 25.5 points. The O/U is set at 48.5.
