The New Day, LWO advance in world tag team title tournament

A tournament to crown new top contenders to the world tag team titles kicked off on Monday Night Raw last week, with the War Raiders, in their return to WWE television, advanced by defeating Alpha Academy. Said tournament continued on this week’s episode in Philadelphia with two match-ups.

First, The New Day scored a roll up pinfall victory over AOP thanks to an assist from R-Truth, who attacked The Miz ringside and provided a distraction for Kofi Kingston. They’re still teasing dissent between Kofi and Xavier Woods, it’s worth pointing out.

Later, the LWO’s Rey Mysterio & Dragon Lee took down American Made’s Creed Brothers in impressive fashion, with Lee scoring the winning fall for his team.

Now, War Raiders, The New Day, and the LWO will meet in a triple threat match next week for the right to wrestle The Judgment Day for their world tag team titles.
