Wake Forest business owners devastated after hit-and-run driver crashes car into store days before opening

Two Wake Forest business owners are pleading for the public’s help to identify a hit-and-run driver who caused significant damage to their store just days before its grand opening.

The incident happened Saturday at Acai Express on Capital Boulevard. A vehicle crashed into the storefront, leaving behind a trail of destruction and delaying the long-awaited opening.

The owners had been working on opening the store for over a year and are uncertain how much this hit-and-run will delay their plans.

“We were heartbroken because we were finally ready to open in November, and then this happened. Just help us out—find the culprit,” Dipali Patel. business owner said. “This isn’t right. They hit the door, shattered everything, and just left. Luckily, no one was hurt.”

Anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact Wake Forest Police.
