Ready for the Chick-fil-A entertainment app? Here’s when it launches, what to expect
Chick-fil-A reportedly launching its own streaming platform
The fast food chain has been expanding its footprint in various industries, including children’s games and animations.
Chick-fil-A is gearing up to launch a new entertainment app featuring original shows, podcasts, e-books and more with a family-friendly focus. Time will tell if it will become a fan favorite, a la the banana pudding milkshake.
The company announced Monday that its new app, Chick-fil-A Play, will launch Nov. 18. Once installed, users will have access to free digital and kid-friendly content for guests. With the new app, the fast food chain wants to create “new ways for families to have fun, connect and spend time together,” according to a news release from Chick-fil-A.
Instead of only streaming shows (once predicted to compete with streaming giants like Hulu and Netflix), the app “will be loaded with a wide variety of content and original entertainment” that includes games, recipes, crafts and more.
The Chick-fil-A app arrives to challenge options from competitors such as Raising Cane’s and McDonald’s, who already host entertainment elements within their main apps.
“The Chick-fil-A Play app is a digital extension of that experience and another way we’re reimagining ‘Play’ for our guests in a unique way through entertainment that really encourages time together,” said Dustin Britt, executive director of brand strategy.
What’s in the new Chick-fil-A Play app?
According to Chick-fil-A, the app’s contents include:
- Original animated shows
- Kid-friendly original scripted podcasts
- Games, jokes and conversation starters
- Video-based recipes
- Kid-friendly crafts
- E-books and interactive stories
The Chick-fil-A Play app will be available for download starting Nov. 18, where the company notes that parents can install it from their favorite app store. Chick-fil-A boasts more than 3,000 restaurants across the U.S., including multiple locations in Cleveland and Cincinnati among the 83 in Ohio.
