And a new study has identified the fields that are still depending heavily on the home-based work model.

According to Finance Buzz, which used data from the Bureau of Labor Statistics to pinpoint a multitude of remote opportunities, these are the most lucrative at-home positions — all of which pay more than $60,000 per year:

10. Actuary, $120,000 annual wage

An actuary works with statistics and financial information to analyze the economic risks of potential events.Most actuaries work with insurance companies to help these businesses assess risks.

9. Public relations specialist, $66,750 annual wage

A public relations specialist works to project a positive image of a client to the public.

They might write press releases, talk to the press, or maintain a positive social media presence for clients.

8. Accountant, $79,880 annual wage

An accountant works with clients to examine financial records and prepare client documents.A work-from-home accountant might work with business clients who need help with financial statements. An accountant might also have personal clients who need help preparing tax returns.

7. Software developer, $132,270 annual wage

A software developer is responsible for designing computer applications or programs that consumers and others use.They also often suggest upgrades to existing systems to help bring a customer’s technology up to speed.

These professionals may work from home and meet with clients virtually.

3. Data scientist, $108,020 annual wage

Data scientists use different tools and techniques to extract information from data sets. For example, they might be responsible for collecting and analyzing data for a client.
