Dot couple launch outlet for fashion jewelry, clothing in Washington Park Mall
The husband-and-wife team of Stephanie Marson-Sealey and Skyler Sealey will open their first brick-and-mortar retail space for their clothing and fashion jewelry business this Saturday (Oct. 26) in Roxbury’s Washington Park Mall.
The Dorchester couple began selling fashion jewelry at local events before they launched an online store, confidenceandfaith.com.
“I’ve always been into fashion,” said Marson-Sealey. “I was working with a business coach, and she was helping me with the website. It started with the jewelry and then morphed into the clothing.”
Given the success of the online venture, the Sealeys decided that it was time to open a Confidence & Faith store front at 330 Martin Luther King Jr. Blvd. in Roxbury. They plan an opening celebration at 11 a.m.
“I love dealing with people,” Marson-Sealey said. “Online you sort of can, but there’s nothing like face-to-face. I hope [the store] will be a place where people will come and say, ‘I know I can find something for myself. I don’t have to worry about it. I hope it will be a place where people find joy, and where people working there can leave smiling.”
The couple’s entrepreneurial spirit is also alive with her daughter, Melania Lee, a 2024 Boston Latin Academy graduate who attends UMass Boston. She will be selling crocheted and embroidered items from her own brand, Stitched by Mel, at the store.
Since the beginning, the couple’s mission has been to inspire confidence in women through faith. Whether their customers are purchasing a new dress or a pair of earrings, the Sealeys want everyone who enters their store to leave feeling more empowered than when they came in.
“When we feel good leaving, that travels to whatever relationship we’re in, to our kids, to whatever. It travels, it’s a butterfly effect. One small thing and then it spreads everywhere,” Marson-Sealey said.
In addition to clothes, jewelry, and Mel’s products, Confidence & Faith offers home decor items, including mugs, pillows, and canvases. The store also has a Christian Shop heavily inspired by Marson-Sealey’s commitment to Light of The World Empowerment Center, the church she has attended since she was 10 years old.
On Saturday, the store will be open until 8 p.m. The first 25 customers will receive a gift with their purchases, and the first 100 people to join the email list will also get a gift.
