DeSantis gives $1 million to FWC to support aquaculture businesses
STEINHATCHEE, Fla. (WCJB) – Multiple business owners joined Gov. Ron DeSantis at Sea Hag Marina to discuss how recent storms impacted their businesses.

Business owners spoke about how they’ve been out of a job for about a month and how it has affected their bottom line, some shedding tears.
Gov. DeSantis announced funding from the Florida Disaster Fund to contribute to the rebuilding of reworking waterfronts.
He presented a $1 million check to Florida Wildlife Conservation to support waterside infrastructure.
DeSantis said more small business loans are being made available for people in the area.
“We’ve initiated the process of submitting a federal fisheries disaster declaration,” DeSantis told reporters Wednesday morning. “If federal government approves this declaration, it will unlock additional resources that can be directed to this area to help rebuild the industry, including offshore nearshore and inshore fisheries.”

Some business owners said they aim to reopen by Nov. 1.
