Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct Stream Will Celebrate Blizzard’s Franchise While Teasing the Future – IGN

Warcraft turns 30 this year, and Blizzard is celebrating its greatest franchise with a special Warcraft 30th Anniversary Direct stream that will celebrate its past while sharing some of what’s on the horizon.

Blizzard’s stream is set for November 13 at 10am PT / 1pm ET and will include “something for everyone,” from old-school fans of the real-time strategy games to World of Warcraft players. Warcraft Rumble and Hearthstone will also feature in the stream. It comes in lieu of BlizzCon 2024, which was canceled earlier this year.

If you think that means that Blizzard is going to suddenly announce Warcraft IV, you probably shouldn’t get your hopes up. As detailed in the recently-released Play Nice: The Rise, Fall, and Future of Blizzard Entertainment, Blizzard is pretty out on RTS these days. At best fans will probably get a tribute trailer inviting them to remember the good old days, but who knows — Blizzard does tease “surprises” in its stream.

World of Warcraft fans, meanwhile, still have plenty to look forward to following the release of the critically-lauded War Within expansion. Blizzard has already announced three full expansions, which it’s calling the “Worldsoul Saga” and is led in part by WoW legend Chris Metzen.

The stream will conclude with a World of Warcraft: 20 Years of Music presentation performed by the 21st Century Orchestra and three choirs —Tales of Fantasy, Ardito, and the Madrijazz Gospel. You can watch the stream on the channels below.
