The chipset selection for the Galaxy S25 series has been a topic of debate where many speculated that the Exynos 2500 would be reintroduced with the lineup especially after it was mentioned at a recent earning call. However, TM Roh’s appearance at the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor event hinted at a different possibility. Now, a leak claims that S25 models would, in fact, be exclusively featured by the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.

According to renowned tipster Ice Universe, all Samsung’s Galaxy S25 models will now feature the Snapdragon 8 Elite processor globally. This follows a similar pattern to the Galaxy S23 series, which came with Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 across all regions. It also marks a departure from the Exynos-powered devices in some markets.

The leak also claims that the Exynos 2500 and MediaTek 9400 chips will not be used in any of the versions of the Galaxy S25 series. Samsung fans might be relieved to know of this development as they have preferred Qualcomm chips for premium devices for their performance and efficiency. By opting for exclusively Snapdragon 8 Elite processor across regions, Samsung is ensuring a consistent experience for its users and avoiding any performance differences that could potentially come up if it moves ahead differently.

For the Galaxy S24 series, Samsung took a mixed approach, going for Exynos 2400 in the S25 and S24 Plus models in most markets, except for China, the U.S., and Canada, where Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chip was used instead. The Ultra model used the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 for the chipset.

While the Exynos 2500 was considered to be a jump in terms of performance compared to its previous generation, Samsung could not make enough chips to pass the quality test, so eventually, it had to be dropped. Users might be happy with the new, given how the Snapdragon 8 Elite chip is forming a reputation of being extremely fast and offering exceptional performance and efficiency.
