2024 World Series: Los Angeles Dodgers history in the Fall Classic
Betts and Freeman bring experience and leadership in Dodgers World Series run
Bob Nightengale discusses what Freddie Freeman and Mookie Betts bring to the Dodgers and what’s on the line for their legacies as Dodgers look to win another World Series.
Sports Seriously
The Los Angeles Dodgers have the opportunity to win their second World Series title in five years. All that stands in their way is the New York Yankees.
While their first World Series of that stretch came during the COVID-shortened 2020 season, this one would be entirely legitimate in their fans’ eyes. No more asterisks. No more opposing fans claiming they had all that money yet couldn’t win a ring. No more jokes about Clayton Kershaw‘s legacy. This 2024 World Series means everything to the Dodgers.
That said, this isn’t the organization’s first rodeo, or even their 10th. While a World Series title has evaded the Dodgers for some time given how often they’ve reached the postseason as of late, the Dodgers still have seven titles throughout their history — sixth-most in MLB. Here’s how they’ve fared in the past.
