Martin Energy Group announces million-dollar expansion in Tipton, creating 225 jobs

The Missouri Department of Economic Development announced on Wednesday that Martin Energy Group, a company that designs, manufactures, and provides energy systems and services, will expand in Tipton.

According to a news release from the DED, the company, headquartered in Tipton, is investing $1.7 million and creating 225 new jobs.

“We are excited to partner with the Missouri Department of Economic Development to expand our business and create more career opportunities in central Missouri,” said Marcus Martin, CEO of Martin Energy Group. “These expansions enable us to continue production of our products here in Missouri and lead to more career opportunities in rural central Missouri.”

MEG spans a broad range of industries, including greenhouses, hospitals, universities, agricultural facilities, and beyond.

The news release stated that the new jobs added will pay employees above the Moniteau County average wage, which is roughly $46,000 annually, according to the Missouri Economic Research and Information Center.

Governor Mike Parson, as quoted in the release, said MEG’s expansion is yet another example of Missouri’s ability to support business growth.

“This leading company’s investment and job creation is a welcome result of our low costs, strong infrastructure, and skilled workforce. We congratulate Martin Energy Group on its success as it continues to grow and benefit Missourians in Tipton and beyond,” said Parson.
