Alison Hammond tackled shoplifter after he tried to steal her shopping bag

Alison Hammond revealed how she recently confronted a shoplifter trying to steal her bag.

The presenter spoke about her ordeal during a discussion on shoplifting on Friday’s episode (26 April) of This Morning, after it was revealed the crime is at its highest level since records began.

The 49-year-old said: “I’ve actually witnessed a theft in one of my shops near me and it was actually against me. I left my shopping bag in the trolley and just turned to have a look at some food, something said in me: ‘Turn around’.

“I turned around and someone had their hand in my bag. I was like: ‘Not today, Satan!’ and they walked off!”
