Where I Live: Trinity Terrace resident traveled the world before finding home in Fort Worth | Fort Worth Report

I am a native San Franciscan but I have lived around the world, so I know how to pick a great place to live. I have lived in Genoa, Italy; Lausanne, Switzerland; Mexico City and Mazatlán, Mexico; Barcelona, Spain; Aspen, Colorado; and finally back to San Francisco. 

I then decided I wanted to be near my children, so I picked Fort Worth where my youngest daughter, Kathleen Culebro, lives. She was just developing the Amphibian Stage theater in the Southside — that sounded exciting and interesting to be a part of. 

Also, I knew that Fort Worth had world-class museums. Since I had been a museum docent in San Francisco for many years, I knew this was the place for me. 

So, I needed to find a place to live. You know what they say: location, location, location! 

Of course I picked Trinity Terrace — right in the middle of all the arts could offer in Fort Worth, with Bass Hall and theaters on one side and the Cultural District on the other. Hog heaven for me. 

Trinity Terrace offered independent senior living apartments that were perfect for me, too. I feel so lucky to be here surrounded by good friends and lovely surroundings. I have lived here for 11 years, and I still can’t believe the years have passed so quickly. Probably it’s because there are so many activities and celebrations at Trinity Terrace — never a dull moment.

Whenever anyone asks me what I like most about living at Trinity Terrace, I always tell them, “It’s the people!” Everyone here is so kind, friendly and helpful, and not just the residents. Our staff is wonderful, too — always supportive, thoughtful and kind. It is really special to be surrounded by such a loving atmosphere.

Creativity is always encouraged here. I created a comedy group here called The Goofy Geezers. We all had such fun performing skits for our weekly social hour. Not only do our residents perform, but employees perform as well. 

I’m so glad I followed that plan — I have such a full life here! I love my apartment with its gorgeous view of downtown Fort Worth. Everything is so easy to do here in the city. I do really appreciate that. 

They say that in Texas everything is big, but I appreciate the small town charm of Cowtown.
