The Deseret News is providing live coverage of Saturday’s game between Utah and Houston. Check back for updates throughout the game.

Third quarter

Utah 7, Houston 7

5:01 — Utah is back out in front, as Micah Bernard scored on a 14-yard run up the middle after a Houston turnover. Utah 14, Houston 7.

The Utes went 22 yards in three plays to go ahead after Johnathan Hall came up with a big interception.

Brandon Rose, who came in for relief of Isaac Wilson the drive before, was 1 of 2 for 8 yards on the possession.

5:57 — The Utes came up with a big turnover, as Johnathan Hall intercepted a tipped ball and returned it 24 yards to the Houston 22. Big opportunity for Utah to capitalize.

Brandon Rose has been inserted for Isaac Wilson in the third quarter.

11:49 — If you like goal-line stands, it’s a good night from a Utah standpoint.

The Utes held Houston out of the end zone on their first drive of the second half after the Cougars got to the 1. Lander Barton dropped running back J’Marion Burnette for a loss on fourth and goal from the 1 to end the scoring threat.

Utah also had a goal-line stand in the second quarter — Houston is 0 of 2 in the red zone.

Halftime

Utah 7, Houston 7

This has been a low-scoring contest, as expected — though the Utes had chances to take the lead late in the second quarter.

Utah’s last two possessions of the half ended in missed field goal attempts, including one with five seconds until the break, and we’ve got a tie ball game.

Utah has 218 yards of total offense to just 99 for Houston.

Isaac Wilson completed 12 of 18 passes for 164 yards and a touchdown in the first half — his first pass of the night went 71 yards to Brant Kuithe for a score.

Since then, though, the Utes have punted twice, lost a fumble and missed two field goals, while Houston scored after getting a short field early in the second quarter.

Second quarter

Utah 7, Houston 7

4:15 — Utah came up with no points on a 55-yard drive that included a fourth-down conversion, as Cole Becker missed a 46-yard field goal attempt just wide right.

11:49 — Isaac Wilson is back in the game for Utah, after missing two plays on the last drive. Brandon Rose was 0 for 1 on his brief relief stint for Wilson.

11:54 — Houston capitalized on a short field, with Stephon Johnson catching a 21-yard pass on third down. Utah 7, Houston 7.

Houston started the possession at the Utah 23 after the Utes were forced to punt from their own end zone and a short punt — and a 15-yard return — put the Cougars just 23 yards from the end zone.

14:31 — Utah came up with a huge stop, with a goal-line stand after a turnover to keep Houston scoreless. The Cougars had two chances to punch the ball in from the 1, but Utah stopped them for no gain on third and fourth downs.

Isaac Wilson was hurt on the play after the fourth-down stop, though, and Brandon Rose is in at quarterback for the Utes. Wilson was holding his wrist as he left the field.

Big development here in Houston.

First quarter

Utah 7, Houston 0

12:28 — That’s a great start for the Utah offense.

On the Utes’ second offensive play of the game, Isaac Wilson threw short for Brant Kuithe, who ran 71 yards for a touchdown. Utah 7, Houston 0.
