Sunday Night Football open thread: Cowboys-49ers gambling lines and picks for tonight’s game

Week 8 features a classic NFL rivalry on Sunday Night Football as the Dallas Cowboys take on the San Francisco 49ers. Both teams have been treading water to begin this season so this could be a sink-or-swim type of game.

Dak Prescott and the Cowboys are coming off a much-needed bye week as the team suffered an ugly loss to the Lions two weeks ago and have been dealing with several injuries to key players. Meanwhile, Brock Purdy and the 49ers are in a similar boat after losing to the Chiefs last week and having a depleted receiving corps.

This is your place to discuss the game with other Las Vegas Raiders fans and any gambling picks you have as the lines below are provided by FanDuel Sportsbook.

Cowboys vs. 49ers

  • Spread: SF -3.5
  • O/U: 47.5
  • SF ML: -210
  • DAL ML: +176

Holder’s picks: DAL +3.5, Under 47.5, DAL ML

With the extra week to prepare and all of San Francisco’s injuries, I like Dallas to pull off the road upset. Also, according to Blogging The Boys’ Brandon Loree, Mike McCarthy is 12-5 after a bye week in his career and 3-1 with the Cowboys specifically. Both teams have plenty of flaws but there seems to be more working in Dallas’ favor heading into the contest.

For the injury report, no game statuses were determined at the time of writing but the following players haven’t practiced this week, as of Thursday, for the 49ers: defensive tackle Kevin Givens (groin), wide receiver Jauan Jennings (hip) and kicker Jake Moody (right ankle). For the Cowboys, kicker Brandon Aubrey (jury duty, expected to play), cornerback DaRon Bland (foot) and outside linebacker Micah Parsons (ankle) missed the first two practices of the week.
