Bio

Antoine Wilson is the CEO and Co-Founder of Melanated Safaris. He is also the owner of travel agency AD Elite Travels and works as an air traffic controller. Wilson and his business partner Okello Jao are the youngest safari company owners in the continent of Africa. Together they aim to change the stigma of travel to Africa. Every safari they give back to the local communities, whether it’s school suppliers, clothes, or monetarily. Wilson is 40 years old but was 39 at the time of application submission.

“Being named to the Travel Industry’s 40 Under 40 is an incredible honor, and I’m truly grateful to TravelPulse for this recognition,” Wilson said. “For me, it’s not about the award—it’s about the awareness it brings and the opportunity to help, uplift, and inspire others. We live in a time where unity and acts of kindness are needed more than ever. I believe we’re stronger together, and I encourage others to step up and be agents of change wherever they can. Travel has the power to bridge divides and make a real difference.  I’m just getting started on this journey and I encourage others to do the same.  Let’s all work together to create a more connected and positive world.

“A life devoted to service through travel — empowering people, enriching lives, and building a brighter future for generations to come.”

Industry Reference

“Antoine has made sure that Melanated Safaris isn’t just about business, it’s about making the world better,” said Okello Jao, Co-Founder Melanated Safaris. “Both of us are passionate about what we do and consider ourselves agents of change. Antoine’s mission is to bring more Americans to Africa, change the negative perceptions people have of this continent, and make a positive impact in local communities. I’m super passionate about having the opportunity to showcase and share my country with the world through tourism. Together, we’re making all of this happen. In July, we reached a huge milestone by buying our first jeep instead of leasing all of our jeeps. We named it Mosi, which means first born in Swahili. Antoine believed in me when no one else did and because of him, I’m living my dream.”
