Melania Trump Takes Her Modest Fashion to Controversial MSG Donald Trump Rally In Rare Campaign Trail Appearance

As Nov. 5 draws nearer, both the Democratic and Republican presidential nominees are moving full speed ahead on their respective campaign trails. Former President Donald Trump went to Madison Square Garden on Oct. 27 for a rally that is now under fire after speakers made a slew racist and indecent comments which targeted Vice President Kamala Harris, the Hispanic community and more people of marginalized identities.

Trump was joined at the controversial event by his family, including his wife, former First Lady Melania Trump, who brought her signature demure fashion to the event in a long, patterned coat and classic black pumps.

A favorite among highly visible women in politics, the enduring shoe style features a sharply pointed toe, sloped sole and a stiletto heel. The shoes picked up her black and white printed coat, which was ankle-length and narrowed at the waist.

Melania Trump has been absent from the campaign trail for a majority of events. For one of her limited appearances, she attended the Republican National Convention in July wearing red pumps with a matching pencil skirt and double-breasted blazer.

Vice President Harris held a rally in Houston over the weekend, where a bevy of A-listers made appearances to support the Democratic candidate, including Bruce Springsteen, Samuel L. Jackson and Beyoncé. The “Cowboy Carter” singer and Houston native took to the stage in a pair of black Jimmy Choo pumps with an ankle strap. Harris and former first lady Michelle Obama were on stage together at one point wearing different styles of black pumps. Ahead of the election next week, Harris’ rally was focused on reproductive rights.
