Avoya Travel (No. 36 on Travel Weekly’s Power List) is inviting advisors to sign up for its Elite 100 program, with a $5,000 bonus for the first 60 that end up joining.
Sixty isn’t a random number: Avoya is celebrating an anniversary this year, with the celebration called “Avoya’s 60 Years of Innovation.”
Elite 100 enables advisors to keep 100% of their commission on their clients’ travel while they pay Avoya $399 a month for hosting services. Avoya keeps a portion of commissions from leads generated by its programs that are shared with member agencies.
Joining the list doesn’t guarantee an agency will be admitted to the program. Avoya said it does a thorough vetting.
Courting experienced sellers marks a shift in Avoya’s strategy. The Fort Lauderdale-based host agency has targeted new travel advisors in recent years.
Elite 100 opened to existing Avoya members late last year. Earlier this month, Avoya reported that commissions for Elite 100 advisors were up 44% year over year; commissions were up 32% for all other advisors.
“Avoya’s business model and award-winning services are designed to create the most profitable independent agencies in the industry, and opening Elite 100 to like-minded, successful advisors extends our commitment to building the best network of travel sellers in the world,” Avoya co-CEO Jeff Anderson said.
