Katie Holmes attended the 2024 CFDA awards on Monday in New York and made a statement in a color-block gown from Carolina Herrera. Styled by Brie Welch, the “Dawson’s Creek” actress wore an unforgettable ensemble for the evening.
The spring 2025 collection dress was structured in two pieces, with the top being a bright pink long-sleeve. The skirt was a vibrant red shade, and was attached to the top with a short stitch right at the middle of the dress, cut in an elegant pencil silhouette. The gown also featured two side cutouts that revealed an alluring open back. Finally, it featured a black bow tie on the back with long ribbons that offered nice contrast to the other vibrant shades of the dress.
Holmes accessorized with delicate drop earrings by Irene Neuwirth, which featured a string of six gemstones in various shades of red. She also wore rings with similar red gemstones. For her handbag, she went with a sleek rectangular clutch in a black patent leather finish. Finally, she wore a pair of red Gianvito Rossi slingback pumps.
The actress posed with Wes Gordon, the current creative director of Carolina Herrera, while on the red carpet. A former finalist of the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund, Gordon opted for a classic look and silhouette for the evening. The designer donned a black tuxedo. He finished his outfit with a pair of sleek black patent leather loafers.
The 2024 CFDA Fashion Awards will take place at the American Museum of Natural History in New York on Oct. 28, with Cynthia Erivo hosting. Honorees at this year’s ceremony include Coach, Michael Kors, Annie Leibovitz and finally, Erykah Badu, who will receive the coveted Fashion Icon Award.
