Alta Recognized As Finalists for Over Two Dozen National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards

Alta Journal has been nominated for 28 National Arts & Entertainment Journalism Awards by the Los Angeles Press Club. These nominations recognize the magazine’s journalism, design, illustrations, and columns as well as its California Book Club.

Among the nominees are CBC editor Anita Felicelli and books editor David L. Ulin for Book Critic; Gustavo Arellano and Stacey Grenrock Woods, Alta’s Ask a Californian columnists, for Humor Writing; Tom Zito for Obituary/In Appreciation, Film Personalities; Ruby McConnell in the Celebrity Investigative category as well as the Business, TV/Streaming, and General News ones; and Robert Ito for Entertainment Feature. On the design side, creative director John Goecke and art director Brent Hatcher were nominated twice for Page Layout; Mark Smith for Illustration; and Melissa Golden for Portrait Photo, Music/Arts.
