2024 fashion trends Blair Waldorf would rock
Blair Waldorf was the queen of fashion on the Upper East Side when “Gossip Girl” first aired in 2007. Queen B always had her finger on the pulse of the fashion world through her fashion designer mother, eventually taking over her mother’s fashion company.
From her school looks to everyday outfits, Blair always showed up impeccably dressed in every season’s hottest designs. Fashion changes with time, however, and these are the fashion trends of 2024 Blair would be strutting, staying true to her own style and taste for expensive designer brands if “Gossip Girl” first premiered this year.
English prep, dark romance and bold glamor
Deemed by the Saks Off 5th Trend Council as the three biggest fall fashion trends of 2024, the English prep, dark romance and bold glamor styles would dominate Blair’s closet.
English prep is a classic style. Melissa Garrick, senior vice president merchandising manager of center core and footwear at Saks Off 5th and a Saks Off 5th Trend Council member, describes the look as “equestrian plaids, timeless European.” Blair would make this style a focal point of her school. While ruling Constance-Billard with an iron fist, Blair would be wearing tweed blazers, specifically the tweed jacket from Bergdorf Goodman with a matching pleated skirt.
The dark romance style plays with patterns such as lace and dark-colored florals. Blair was never one to go away from patterns, but the dark romance style is sophisticated, and a style Blair would lean on when picking out the perfect outfit for a date with Chuck Bass. A dark lace dress with a pair of Louis Vuitton heels would have Blair turning heads.
The bold glamor look, consisting of pieces of animal print, leather and statement jewelry, would be just another everyday look for Blair. Even for an event as simple as going to brunch, Blair would be styling the bold glamor look through a leather skirt, a leopard print blouse and bold pieces of jewelry.
Mary Janes
One of the biggest shoe trends of 2024 is Mary Janes. The classic and versatile shoe would carry Blair through all her adventures and schemes on the Upper East Side. Designer Mary Janes with a small heel are classy and in style, making them the perfect shoe choice for Blair.
Headbands
All good things come in pairs. Like peanut butter and jelly and Batman and Robin, Blair Waldorf and her headbands are an iconic duo.
InStyle reports embellished headbands as one of fall’s big hair trends. While many things have changed from when “Gossip Girl” premiered in 2007, Blair donning a statement headband is not one of them. Headbands are synonymous with the name Blair Waldorf, and Blair would still be wearing one if the accessory was not a trending, in-style item.
Bows
The bow trend is still going strong and evolved from a simple hair accessory to an embellishment added to items such as tops, pants and purses. While Blair would not be tying a bow in her hair — it would compete with her headbands — she would be adding her name to the long list of people who have styled a bow in their outfit in some way, shape or form. An item like Bergdorf Goodman bow sweater falls under the previously mentioned English prep style and Bloomingdale’s statement purse would look great on Blair’s arm for a fancy event.
Riding boots
Taking a break from her high heels and Mary Janes, Blair would most definitely zip up a pair of riding boots. The shoe is a major current fashion trend and goes well with looks under both the English prep and glamor styles. Riding boots are stylish and practical, making them the perfect shoe for Blair as she hunts down her biggest enemies.
There is a few 2024 fashion trends Blair would never be caught wearing, such as double denim. However, Blair would be leaning into styles and trends, such as English prep and Mary Janes, to remain best dressed on the Upper East Side if “Gossip Girl” premiered in 2024. Blair’s keen sense of style would lead her to these dominant 2024 fashion trends.
