Freddie Freeman’s wife has ‘no words’ after World Series MVP nod with Dodgers heroics

Freddie Freeman’s wife is “so dang proud” of the star Dodgers first baseman, who was named MVP of the 2024 World Series following L.A.’s come-from-behind triumph over the Yankees in Game 5 on Wednesday night.

Chelsea Freeman, who traveled from coast to coast as Freeman pursued his second World Series title, took to Instagram after the 35-year-old received the Willie Mays World Series MVP Award following his home run heroics in the best-of-seven series.

“Wow. No words. Just so dang proud. What a freaking year!” Chelsea exclaimed in an Instagram Story that highlighted Freeman’s stats of four home runs, six hits, 12 RBIs and five runs.

Freeman, who won his first World Series in 2021 as a member of the Braves, later posed for on-field photos at Yankee Stadium with Chelsea, his wife of nearly 10 years.

“My 2X World Champion !!!! #MVP,” she penned in an Instagram post.

Entering Wednesday’s game with a 3-1 series lead, the Dodgers came alive at the top of the fifth inning following a calamity of errors from the Yankees, which erased their five-run lead.

The Dodgers pulled ahead at the top of the eighth and never looked back, topping the Yankees, 7-6.

“It seems like we hit every speed bump possible over the course of this year. And to overcome what we did as a group of guys, it’s special,” Freeman said, per MLB.com.

Freeman persevered through physically and emotional hurdles to get to this point.

In addition to dealing with an ankle injury earlier in the postseason, he and wife Chelsea also grappled with 3-year-old son Maximus’ health battle over the summer when he was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, which Chelsea described as “a rare neurological condition that is especially rare in children.”

Chelsea, who shares two other sons with Freeman, Charlie and Brandon, provided an encouraging update on Maximus’ progress earlier this month.

“With the help of lots and lots of PT, Max is getting closer and closer to being his normal rambunctious self,” she posted on Instagram.

The Freemans arrived in Los Angeles in 2022 after the eight-time MLB All-Star agreed to a six-year, $162 million contract with the Dodgers.
