Covenant House ‘Sleep Out’ Fundraiser Seeks Business Community Support
Business leaders and community groups are being asked to help raise funds for homeless youth and survivors of human trafficking by joining any of Covenant House New Jersey’s three “Sleep Out” events in November taking place in Newark, Atlantic City and MetLife Stadium.
Now in its 14th year, Sleep Out not only raises critical funds and awareness, but also serves as an unforgettable team building and networking opportunity for business and community groups, according to Mary Lonergan, corporate partnerships & foundation officer, CHNJ.
During fiscal year 2024, the nonprofit served 1,887 homeless youth, a 27% increase from the prior year, and currently has a waiting list of close to 100 young people.
“We have a lot to do to help end youth homelessness in New Jersey and ‘Sleep Out’’ is our largest fundraiser, having raised over $20 million to date in New Jersey since its inception back in 2011,” Lonergan said.
“We welcome any professional to sign up on their own, or as part of a team. There’s no fee to register, we just ask that everyone do their best to fundraise and submit for their company match if offered,” Lonergan said.
