Woman accused of stealing $600k from boss allowed to travel with restrictions
MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) – A woman accused of stealing thousands of dollars from her employer in 2023, was granted to travel with restrictions.
Ivey Jennings, 36, a former personal assistant who is facing a theft of property charge, appeared in court for a bond hearing on Monday.
During the hearing, the court demanded Jennings show documentation supporting the claim of medical necessity for her travel limitations.
According to the Shelby County District Attorney’s Office, Jennings failed to provide the required proof of her travel restrictions.
However, the defendant and the court agreed to allow her to travel only inside of Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, and Florida.
She must also turn in her passport and check in weekly with the office.
The defendant has previously cited travel restrictions due to a high-risk pregnancy, according to the district attorney’s office.
Jennings is accused of using the First Horizon Bank account to buy a Lexus SUV worth $40,600 from Montgomery Auto Group. Records say she placed the car title under her business name Mimi Morton LLC.
She is also accused of spending $295,913 on credit to buy various items and spending $310,122 on Faire.
