Black Friday 2024 store hours to shop the best deals at Target, Walmart, Best Buy and more

The 2024 Black Friday sales are still a couple of weeks away (in 2024, the big shopping bonanza falls on Friday, Nov. 29), but it’s never too soon to start planning a strategy for which stores to hit up first this year. And if you’re planning to shop more than the online Amazon Black Friday deals, you may be wondering when retailers are opening and what kind of doorbusters they’ll have.

While the majority of these stores will remain closed on Thanksgiving Day to let employees spend time with their families (Bass Pro Shops was one of the few stores open last year), most will open bright and early on Friday morning, when most people are still sleeping off the Tryptophan. Before you get carried away, don’t expect to rush into stores at 1 a.m. looking for a deal. The earliest you’ll catch any of these retailers opening on Black Friday is 5 a.m. — still an ungodly hour, but at least you’ll get to see the sun rise as you stand in line.

Below, we’ve compiled a list of opening hours for some of our readers’ favorite stores. More Black Friday deals are available online than in years past — and many retailers are even getting a head start, with plans to roll out deals before Thanksgiving. That said, some stores may still have in-person-only deals — so check the fine print in those old-school newspaper circulars and TV ads.

Though retailers haven’t started to announce their Black Friday hours yet, we can speculate when they’ll open their doors based on last year’s schedule. As we get confirmation from each store, we’ll update this story. To that end, here are the opening times for major retailers for Black Friday 2023. Want to shop online? We’ve linked to each store as well.

Be aware that store hours vary by location, so we recommend calling any stores you plan on visiting in advance.
