Senators Shut-Out The Kraken; Defeated 3-0
The Seattle Kraken fall to 1-2-0 on their current five-game road trip after they were shut out by the Ottawa Senators 3-0.
Philipp Grubauer stopped 21 of the 23 shots he faced but with no offence from the Kraken for the second game in a row, it wasn’t enough from the German netminder. At the other end of the rink, Swedish goaltender Anton Forsberg stopped everything he faced turning away all 22 Kraken shots.

The Senators opened the scoring courtesy of Adam Gaudette’s sixth goal of the season. The goal was initially called off but the Senators challenged and the call was overturned. The first period ended with the Senators up 1-0 and outshooting the Kraken 10-9.
Brady Tkachuk extended the Kraken’s lead after the Kraken couldn’t convert back-to-back power play opportunities. The first 40 minutes finished with the Senators up 2-0 and outshooting the Kraken 16-14.
In the third, the Kraken pushed for any offence but couldn’t beat Forsberg. With the goaltender pulled, Tim Stutzle pounced on a clearing attempt by the Senators and deposited the puck into the Kraken’s vacant goal to ensure the victory for the Senators.
Another game where the Kraken couldn’t generate enough quality chances led to a loss. The Kraken will attempt to redeem themselves tomorrow when they travel back to the USA to take on the Boston Bruins.
