Rest In Power: Legendary Producer & Entertainment Mogul Quincy Jones Dies At 91

One of the most important fixtures in black entertainment and music, Quincy Jones passed away at 91.

NewsOne reports that Jones’ publicist Arnold Robinson confirmed that the entertainment juggernaut who collaborated with everyone from Michael Jackson to Frank Sinatra died late Sunday night inside his Bel-Air mansion surrounded by his family.

“Tonight, with full but broken hearts, we must share the news of our father and brother Quincy Jones’ passing,” the family said in a statement perthe AP. “And although this is an incredible loss for our family, we celebrate the great life that he lived and know there will never be another like him.”

Hailing from the Southside of Chicago, Jones would go on to impact the world and change music and entertainment forever. Jones was the mastermind behind the infamous “We Are the World” mega-star charity collaboration in 1985.

Quincy helped deliver what some argue is the best television sitcom of all time The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and the mogul’s eye and ear for talent never missed. His foresight changed pop culture and Will Smith’s life forever.

One thing that will forever be mentioned with Jones’ name and legacy is his work on Michael Jackson’s critically acclaimed album, Thriller.
