WEEK AT A GLANCE: Texan Basketball begins regular season, Football travels to West Georgia – Tarleton State University Athletics
Monday tips off both basketball programs regular seasons on the road, while Saturday, the men’s side opens Wisdom Gym for the 2024-25 season.
TEXAN MEN’S BASKETBALL begins their regular season on the road, traveling to Dallas to take on SMU on Monday at 7:30 p.m. They will have their home opener against former conference foe, Sam Houston, on Saturday at 7 p.m. This will be a White Out game, with free rally towels given out to early arriving fans. There will still be excitement on the court when the Texans are in the locker room, as Red Panda returns to Wisdom Gym for a halftime performance. The Texans will travel to Florida State Nov. 12 for their next game.
TEXAN WOMEN’S BASKETBALL is on the road to begin their regular season, starting out against UTEP on Monday at noon. Following that, they will travel to Arizona to take on the Wildcats at 7 p.m. on Thursday. Their first regular season home game is slated for Nov. 12 at 11 a.m. for an Education Day game, with Comanche Elementary bringing hundreds of students to cheer on the Texans.
TARLETON STATE TENNIS is competing in more postseason play this fall, traveling to Rome, Georgia, for the ITA Conference Masters Championship. Noelia Lorca will be the lone Texan competing after she took home the WAC Tennis Invitational Singles Champion title in the end of October. She defeated the top two seeds of the tournament on her way to gaining the bid for more postseason play this week. The ITA Conference Masters Championship is set to begin on Thursday and conclude on Sunday.
TEXAN FOOTBALL hits the road to Carrollton, Georgia, to compete in their final road contest of the regular season against West Georgia. The Wolves are 3-6 overall and winless in United Athletic Conference play. The game is set to kickoff at 1 p.m. The Texans will return to Memorial Stadium Nov. 16 to take on Abilene Christian for Legends Game.
TARLETON STATE VOLLEYBALL hosts their lone match of the week against Southern Utah at 6 p.m. on Thursday. The environment within Wisdom Gym with have a different feel, as this will be Throwback Thursday to take fans back a couple decades. Texan Volleyball will host their final game Nov. 11 for Senior Night against UTA. They will conclude the regular season on the road.
TARLETON SPORTS RADIO SHOW features Texan Football head coach, Todd Whitten, and Texan Volleyball head coach, Mary Schindler, weekly through November. The Todd Whitten Show, presented by Triple Crown Ford, will be hosted every Thursday in the lobby of Triple Crown Ford, located at 2975 W. Washington St. in Stephenville from 12-12:30 p.m. Lunch will be provided to those in attendance to all Todd Whitten Shows. The Mary Schindler Show, presented by Peacock’s Restaurant and Santo Propane, will be hosted every Monday at the Tarleton Student Center from 12-12:30 p.m. The Bill Brock and Billy Gillispie Shows are amongst us and will air Tuesdays live from BJ’s Restaurant & Bar. The Bill Brock Show will run from 6-6:30 p.m. and the Billy Gillispie Show will follow from 6:30-7 p.m. BJ’s Restaurant & Bar will have food and drink specials to accompany the weekly shows. The shows will air on the flagship of Tarleton State Athletics, KTRL 90.5 FM in Stephenville, Texas, and worldwide at TarletonSports.com/Watch.

TICKETS are available for all of the upcoming home events online at TarletonSports.com/tickets. The ticket office is open from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. at Memorial Stadium. Admission to all Tarleton State Women’s Soccer games are free to all fans. Student tickets are available for free to Tarleton students from any campus with a valid university ID number but must be ordered in advance at TarletonSports.com/tickets.
