Business Openings: Gorjana, Fitness Lounge NYC, Monsieur Bistro, Dos Toros | East Side Feed
California-based jewelry brand Gorjana will be opening its sixth NYC location at 1070 Madison Avenue (at 81st Street) on November 13. This is the store’s 89th location nationwide. “At the 830-square-foot store, shoppers can soon browse the nationally-recognized brand’s popular designs, including gold jewelry featuring diamonds, opals, sapphires and more,” reads a press release. “2024 has been such an exciting year with the opening of two stores in New York City – our home away from home,” said Gorjana Reidel, Co-Founder. “We could not be more excited to join the iconic and luxurious Upper East Side community just in time for the holidays.” They also opened a store on the Upper West Side this summer.
Fitness Lounge NYC opened at 1695 First Avenue (at East 88th Street) on November 1 (h/t @uesthings). This is the fitness company’s third location and first in Manhattan, joining its two gyms in Astoria. Fitness Lounge NYC offers monthly memberships and their own personal trainers; they also let independent trainers use the space for an hourly fee, according to their website. Some of the selling points laid out on their website include a clean and less crowded environment, and they also say there are no strict contracts nor hidden fees. The Queens locations do have positive reviews (respective Google scores of 4.9 and 5 stars).
Monsieur Bistro has opened its doors at 853 Lexington Avenue (between 64th and 65th streets)–the space which was previously occupied by Sel et Poivre. The self-described “local bistro with a chic twist,” which we last wrote about in June, announced its official opening on Monday, November 4 on Instagram. “Monsieur Bistro is a tribute to Parisian café life from the team behind Maison Close Soho,” the new cafe’s Resy description states. “On your must-visit list for real-thing French fare, from Steak tartare to Salade Niçoise with a Mediterranean influence!”
Signage is up for a new Dos Toros at 71st and York Avenue (h/t @uptown_girls_ues). This will be the popular Mission-style taqueria chain’s second Upper East Side location, adding to its storefront at 1115 Lexington Avenue (between 77th and 78th streets). Brothers Leo and Oliver Kremer launched the eatery in 2009 in Union Square. There are now 18 Dos Toros locations in NYC and two in Washington D.C.
