Major Indoor Entertainment Venue Closes In Southington

SOUTHINGTON, CT — A large indoor entertainment complex/restaurant announced Tuesday morning it is closing for good, citing the current economic conditions that have hurt the industry.

Crystal Bees, located at 240 Sprague St., Southington, opened in 2016 and offered a place for bowling, games, musical events, parties/celebrations, and festive dining.

But after shuttering for much of 2020 during the pandemic, the post-pandemic economic landscape proved to be too much to stay in business, wrote Crystal Bees Tuesday.

“Over the years, we’ve faced many challenges, including the COVID-19 pandemic, and we were fortunate to weather that storm thanks to your support and resilience,” wrote the owners on Facebook.

“However, the current economic landscape has made it increasingly difficult for us to continue as a restaurant and entertainment venue.”

The closing is effective immediately.

When operating, Crystal Bees featured a high-end restaurant with seating for 170; a full-service bar area; 16 bowling lanes; two bocce courts; private party rooms; an arcade; and poll tables, among other features.

The venue’s owners thanked the community for its support.

“We are forever grateful for the memories we created together, and although this chapter is ending, the memories we’ve shared will always have a special place in our hearts,” wrote Crystal Bees.
