Nominations open for GO Topeka’s annual Small Business Awards
TOPEKA, Kan. (WIBW) – Nominations are open for GO Topeka’s annual Small Business Awards.
The event celebrates the entrepreneurs and businesses that make our community great.
Stephanie Moran, senior vice president of innovation for GO Topeka, visited Eye on NE Kansas to explain the process.
While the awards ceremony itself isn‘t until May, Moran said the nomination process is extensive, that’s why they want people to start thinking now about who deserves to be recognized.
Moran said nominating a business is as simple as filling out a short form online. The business is then notified, and is asked to provide certain information about their company and its operations. Nominating early, she said, will give the company more time to compile its information and put its best face forward for the awards selection committee.
Nominations will be accepted through Feb. 28, 2025 in the following categories:
Young Entrepreneur
Micro Enterprise
Emerging Innovation Venture
Women-Owned Business
Minority-Owned Business
Manufacturer
Exporter
An overall Small Business of the Year winner will be chosen from among the category winners.
