Emma Raducanu is on track to represent her country in the Billie Jean King Cup finals next week.
The 21-year-old has not been seen on the match court since she sprained ligaments in her left foot at the Korea Open in September.
But she has been training at the LTA’s National Tennis Centre this week and, all being well, looks set to fly out with the GB team to Malaga on Monday.
Raducanu’s team said: ‘Emma is training well and being with the team next week is her focus.’
The British No2 had enjoyed a promising return to the tour in Seoul after a disappointing first-round exit at the US Open in September, reaching the quarter-finals after victories against Peyton Stearns and Yue Yuan. But after taking a medical timeout in her match against eventual winner Daria Kastakina, Raducanu was forced to withdraw.

Targeting the national team finals has been a goal of Raducanu’s, as she shared in a statement at the end of last month, but fans were concerned when a picture was released of the player visiting Great Ormond Street Hospital wearing a large protective boot.
Raducanu played a crucial role in helping Britain reach the finals of the tournament when she rejoined the team for the first time in two years in France this April.
Wins against Caroline Garcia and Diane Parry on clay helped clinch Britain’s 3-1 victory against the hosts, and at the time, Raducanu shared that she believed she was was ‘playing the best tennis of (her) career and (her) life.’
Britain’s first match is against Germany on November 15. Win that and they would play Canada in the quarter-finals two days later.
Katie Boulter, world No 23, is captain Anne Keothavong’s No1 player, with Raducanu (ranked 58th) competing with world No 61 Harriet Dart for the second singles spot.
