Miami Fashion Week set to return in November | Event News USA
Miami Fashion Week (MIAFW) is making its much-awaited return from 19th-23rd November 2024, bringing an exciting mix of local and international designers. The expanded programme will feature runway shows, sustainability-focused programming, and exclusive citywide activations.
Building on the success of the January 2024 showcase, which emphasised streetwear, MIAFW will continue to highlight resort wear while adding a broader range of design genres to its lineup. Notable designers and brands include Lafayette 148 New York, debuting its resort collection at the Mr. C Coconut Grove, as well as returning names such as Ágatha Ruiz de la Prada, who will present her latest collection alongside her autobiography. Other returning designers include Yas González, Giannina Azar, and Shantall Lacayo.
MIAFW will also introduce the ‘Miami Made’ initiative, aimed at supporting local designers, including Sigal. International designers, such as Claro Couture from Spain and Venezuelan designer Yenny Bastida, will also showcase their collections.
A key highlight of the event is the expanded Miami Fashion Week Summit, hosted in collaboration with Miami Dade College. This two-day event will bring together industry experts to discuss sustainable practices, the role of influencers, and the future of fashion. Additionally, MIAFW will feature emerging talent with designs from students of the Miami Fashion Institute at the Gary Nader Art Centre.
“Miami Fashion Week has always been a vibrant crossroads of creativity and culture,” said Lourdes Fernandez-Velasco, executive director of Miami Fashion Week. “This year, we continue to focus on sustainability, innovation, and the future of fashion, solidifying Miami as a dynamic cultural hub.”
