Walmart brings InHome delivery service to Cleveland, creating 75 jobs

CLEVELAND, Ohio — Walmart has launched InHome delivery in the Cleveland area.

Cleveland Walmart+ members are now able to have groceries, presents and other items delivered to their home through InHome delivery, a spokeswoman said Wednesday.

To access the service, interested customers need need to purchase a Walmart+ membership, priced at $49 for the first year.

Once signed up, members will be able to add on the InHome service within their account settings for an extra $7 a month or $40 per year, Walmart said in a news release.

Existing Walmart+ members can add InHome delivery through their account settings.

Customers will be able to place orders on eligible items online and through the Walmart app, also setting up an InHome delivery time window.

Walmart said it has taken steps to assure safety for the optional interior deliveries by having the associate use a one-time access code to unlock a door or garage. The associate will be required to wear a camera on their vests to record the delivery and the footage would be available on a Walmart+ member’s account for up to a week.

Cleveland is part of an expansion of the service into 25 additional cities, including, Baltimore, San Diego and Portland among others, bringing the total markets service to 80. The addition of the service means 75 new Walmart jobs in the Cleveland area.

“We are excited that more Walmart+ members than ever now have access to InHome deliveries, right in time for the holidays. This is the time of year when families are at their busiest, and by providing the option of InHome delivery, we’re helping them check more things off their holiday to-do lists with greater ease,” said Venessa Yates, senior vice president and general manager of Walmart+.
