Woodley Gardens Shopping Center Passes Inspection After Plumbing Repairs; Restaurants Begin to Reopen This Week – The MoCo Show

Restaurants

After a temporary closure of the Woodley Gardens shopping center in Rockville that lasted for more than a week, Carmen’s Italian Ice announced via social media that the plumbing repair work just passed inspection. Carmen’s will open at 2pm today, Z&Z Manoushe Bakery will open tomorrow (Thursday), and we have not heard from Hard Times or Shanghai Taste about a reopening date, though we would assume Thursday or Friday. The parking lot is still “a mess” according to business owners.

On Wednesday afternoon Carmen’s wrote, “Looks like the plumbing issues in Rockville are fixed & water will be back on by noon today! (Parking lot is still a mess but that should be fixed in next few days) OPEN, OPEN, OPEN in Rockville today, 2-9pm Thanks for all the support while all the restaurants in Woodley dealt with this issue. Please grab some lunch or dinner from our friends @zandzdc @hardtimesrockville & Shanghai Taste when they open(hopefully they can get all be ready to open in next day or too as well)

Z&Z Manoushe Bakery wrote, “Officially back open after a brief hiatus. Join us starting tmw (thursday, 11/7) for some good ol manoushe, beverages, and other goodies. Our dough is currently getting some slow cold fermented rest for deep flavor and the special fluffy yet crispy crust. See you soon.

The Hard Times answering machine may provide an update soon, but has not as of 1:45pm on Wednesday. A call to Shanghai Taste went unanswered.
