  • The Skyhawks rallied from eight points down with just over a minute to play, Monday, to cut the lead to just one with the ball with two seconds left on the clock. However, in the end, UT Martin was unable to get a shot off in the and fell in the season opener, 66-63, to North Alabama.

     
  • Anaya Brown led the Skyhawks in both scoring and rebounding in the game, with 16 and five, respectively. Kenley McCarn added 15 to the tally, while Shae Littleford had 11 and Daejah Richmond chipped in with 10.

     
  • With six against North Alabama, the Skyhawks have now made at least one 3-point field goal in 482 consecutive games, a streak which dates back to Feb. 3, 2009, against Austin Peay and currently, ranks 8th nationally.

     
  • Monday was a special occasion for the McCarn family, as Kenley and Kaitlyn appeared in their first Division I basketball game together as teammates. This the second season in a row that the Skyhawks have had sisters on the roster, as Lexi and Tori Rubel both suited up for the blue and orange last season. The McCarns also mark the fourth set of sisters that head coach Kevin McMillan has had on his roster at the same time.

     
  • The last time the Skyhawks and Lady Vols met was in Chicago as part of the 2012 NCAA Tournament. Current assistant coach and UT Martin Hall of Famer Jasmine Newsome was a part of that team. She finished the game with 10 points, six rebounds, five assists and a block.
