Earlier this week, the Nebraska Cornhuskers hired former head coach Dana Holgorsen as an offensive consultant. Holgorsen joins the Huskers after head coaching stints with the West Virginia Mountaineers and Houston Cougars.
Holgorsen is known for his air raid offense. The air raid is a spread, no-huddle offense that relies heavily on the passing game. The hope is that his track record of success will immediately impact the Huskers.
Nebraska’s offense has struggled all season long. They rank No. 99 in total offense, averaging 354.1 yards per game. The Huskers also rank No. 100 in scoring offense, with a paltry 23.6 points per game.
This isn’t the first time that the Huskers have talked with Holgorsen. Last offseason, he had conversations with Matt Rhule about joining the coaching staff, but no deal was reached.
