Northwest Wichita YMCA receives $500K for new sports complex
WICHITA, Kan. (KWCH) – A brand new outdoor sports complex is open at the Northwest YMCA thanks to two $250,000 gifts.
Half of the money is from Cargill Protein, and the other half was donated by ATG Sports, a synthetic turf construction company based in Andover.
The YMCA used the money to build a “destination sports complex” with two turf fields, four pickleball courts, a playground, staff office, restrooms and new parking.
The outdoor sports complex is across the street from the Northwest YMCA at 21st and 135th. It opened in August for the fall youth sports season.
