UISD students gather for Kindness project on World Kindness Day
LAREDO, Tex. (KGNS) – Hundreds of United Independent School District (UISD) students gathered Wednesday, November 13, at the Bill Johnson Student Activity Center to promote kindness and stand against bullying on World Kindness Day.
Over 500 students from each UISD campus came together at 9:30 a.m. to build a huge paper link chain filled with messages of kindness and support. The event, led by the Superintendent’s Student Advisory, aimed to spread positivity throughout the district.
After making the giant kindness link, the students formed a special message on the field to show unity and support for kindness: “WE ARE UNITED.”
UISD asked everyone to wear red to show support. The advisory group plans to bring positive change to the district with this project, one of several.
