Apple AirTags Were My Best Travel Purchase Ever—and They’re $19 at Amazon Today
When my parents and I booked a big cross-country adventure to Arizona to visit Sedona, the Grand Canyon, and Scottsdale last spring, I knew I needed to find a solution to one of my biggest travel anxieties: lost luggage. After some quick research and a chat with my best friend, we decided to pick up these handy Apple gadgets that you can also score on sale at Amazon for $19 apiece.
I’m a long-time Apple fan, and I had heard about some of the benefits of the brand’s AirTags previously. But it wasn’t until my best friend mentioned that she slips one inside of her checked luggage before flying that I really started paying attention. I have to admit that I was skeptical that a device that’s no larger than a quarter would ease my anxiety, but I was wrong. My parents and I all agree that this is the best $19 we’ve each ever spent on a travel gadget.
Apple AirTag
Just like many of Apple’s other products, AirTags are easy to use. When it arrives, you simply pull the tab on the battery to activate it, pair it with your iPhone’s Find My app, and then slip it inside the item you don’t want to lose. Whenever you’re not near your item, Find My will not only alert you that your item is no longer with you, but it will also share where it was last seen. The latter part is why an AirTag inside of luggage comes in clutch: If your bag doesn’t make it onto your plane, you’ll know the last spot where the AirTag was tracked to notify the airline and keep your own worries in check. The easy-to-replace battery inside of an AirTag lasts for a year, so you won’t have to worry about it dying mid-trip.
Thankfully, my concerns about losing our luggage on our trip out West were unfounded: Our bags made it to and from our destinations just fine. After the peace of mind we all experienced, we’ve continued to use AirTags on every flight since—we truly appreciate that our AirTags ping to let us know our bags’ locations.
While travel is our go-to way to use AirTags, shoppers also highlight other items they’ve tagged to avoid losing them, like pets, keys, and backpacks. “I have one attached to my keys, another in my briefcase, one in my wallet, another on my dog’s collar, and one in my suitcase,” began one five-star reviewer who highlighted how the AirTag helped them to locate their luggage when the airline said it was in a different state. Another shopper has an AirTag on their dog’s collar and shared, “This has been a lifesaver for us, as our dogs are notorious for getting out of the backyard.”
Whether you travel now and again or you’re almost always at an airport, pick up an Apple AirTag to keep your worries about lost luggage in check while it’s 34 percent off at Amazon. Keep scrolling below for even more popular travel finds from Amazon.
