Las Vegas business along F1 track frustrated by new bridge he says is deterring customers

LAS VEGAS, Nev. (FOX5) – Many business owners are still unhappy with the temporary bridge at the intersection of Flamingo and Koval created for the upcoming Las Vegas Grand Prix.

They say it’s keeping them separated from customers causing them to lose money. One business owner Wade Bohn, whose property sits right along the race track, said a new addition to the bridge has made him unhappy. He told FOX5 he lost millions in sales from the temporary bridge over Flamingo.

But now with the pedestrian bridge giving him trouble, he expects losses to be even greater, not only because one entrance is blocked, but because the amount of time it will be blocked. Bohn estimates he will lose access to that entrance for about three weeks total.

F1 Las Vegas Grand Prix’s Lori Nelson-Kraft said whether the pedestrian bridge was built or not, Bohn’s property would have been blocked off regardless for the same amount of time it was blocked last year because his property sits right along the race track.

“I am really concerned about ending up going out of business,” Bohn said. “I was a little concerned last year, I thought we could survive it. But this year, with that?”

Bohn said this hasn’t only impacted sales inside the story but the way product is delivered to the store.
