First ever Prince & Princess Day fashion show held in Dillard’s

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – Dillard’s in Albany holds several events, but Saturday’s event was the first of its kind.

The Prince & Princess Day fashion show was held in the top level of Dillard’s in the Albany Mall on Saturday at 1 p.m.

Organizers told WALB that they held this event to make boys and girls feel like princes and princesses.

“Oh year, it’s very important. It gives them a different side of life. Something we don’t see every day, so, it’s a good thing for the kids,” said Roderick James, grandfather of a participant.

Organizers said that this event was going on corporate-wide.

“We just wanted to do a special event to make the girls feel really pretty and special, and also the guys and the boys too. So, that can be kind of equal,” said Barshona Campbell, event organizer.

“It’s a Dillard’s initiative, asn you we, you know, it’s such a great event because all of the Dillard’s are doing it today, corporate-wide. And so Barshona just took today by the horns and she’s been inviting little princes and princesses all month long and what a great turnout. We’re so proud of her,” said Monica Lockhart, event organizer.

The fashion show was the main event but also featured extra fun goodies like gift bags, games, a station to send letters to Santa, and 10% off of the apparel worn by the kids who walked the stage.

Organizers said they hope to make the Prince & Princess Day fashion show a yearly event. Dillard’s holds fashion shows several times a year: Easter, back-to-school season, and holidays.

“It’s really about boosting their confidence, right? It’s about letting them kind of strut their stuff. It’s about letting them, you know, get pictures with their family and everything, and it just feels good to look good and that’s what we want to do for them, too,” said Joshua Emanuel, Dillard’s store manager.

The next fashion show will be in December and will be holiday-themed.
