Smoking Crab and Seafood Co. food truck travels to the Grand Island

GRAND ISLAND, Neb. (KSNB) – The Smoking Crab and Seafood Co. has decided to share a taste from the Florida’s water to the community of Grand Island.

The food truck has traveled all across the Midwest, making stops in Oklahoma, Missouri and now Nebraska. The owner of the company said, he’s been cooking sine 1984 and he’s had a passion for cooking. Bobby Muhammad, owner of The Smoking Crab and Seafood Co, said he wanted to give the Midwest a taste of something they’ve never experienced before.

“Our method is to go away from the water and so this is why we chose the Midwest,” said Mahammad. “It’s not up here, basically what we do is we do crab boils, fried food, pasta, gumbos, salads, a lot of stuff that ordinary food trucks don’t have.“

Mahammad added, there’s a difference between Florida’s seafood boils and Louisiana’s.

“What we do is bring the Florida cuisine of crab boils, the different between our cuisine and Louisiana cuisine is that we have a lot of different flavors, we add our egg to our meals and stuff,“ Mahammad said.

Mahammad also said he owns more than five different food trucks and was started with him and his nephew Jonathan Benjamin.

“We love what we’re doing, it’s mostly about the people that comes,” Mahammad said. “They keep us going they tells us what places to go and what should we do and stuff like that and so basically it’s just a family business and it’s just a hella of experience, we travel state to state, city to city.“

Muhammad said they’re expected to open a sit down restaurant in Lincoln, NE sometime in January.
