Charlotte-based Speedway Motorsports ranked in ‘Best Places to Work in Sports’ report
CONCORD, N.C. (WBTV) – Charlotte-based Speedway Motorsports was ranked as one of the best places to work in sports for 2024, according to a recent Sports Business Journal (SBJ) report.
Of the over 200 nominated companies, Speedway Motorsports was among the 56 finalists recognized, helping it earn a silver medal in the Professional Services category for organizations with 50 or more workers.
“As a leader in the entertainment space, this recognition is a testament to the culture that can be created when organizations put people first,” said Marcus Smith, President and CEO of Speedway Motorsports. “We strive to be a place where our guests want to visit and make lifelong memories, and where our teammates thrive as well. We are honored to be selected among the Best Places to Work in Sports.”
How it worked
The study analyzed results from a nomination form available from June to early August. That form, which respondents could scan via QR code through a series of posts across SBJ’s platforms, determined the best sports workplaces of 2024.
To qualify, a company must have had at least seven full or part-time employees; those with either 5% ownership, temporary or per diem workers, independent contractors, consultants and interns couldn’t participate.
Following submissions, SBJ said it worked with partner Quantum Workplace to gather general information with the 220 nominated companies. Those surveys were compiled and analyzed to determine which organizations would be honored.
