Florida is set to have a record-breaking Thanksgiving as more than 4.5 million Floridians are forecast to travel 50 miles or more for the holiday, according to the latest data from AAA.

That’s nearly 112,000 more than last year.

Florida Thanksgiving travelers mirror a national trend that shows a 2% growth (79.9 million travelers) compared to the previous record set last year.

Economic growth, declining inflation and strong income gains are three factors AAA says have led to the jump in travel, which is expected to boost consumer spending by 4.6% compared to this time last year.
