Slayer officially announced for Guilty Gear Strive in new trailer, to release on May 30th

And yes, he still sucks your blood

If there was ever any doubt before, the vampire dandy man is finally making his way back to the stage, and he’s ready to put on a show.

At Evo Japan 2024, Arc System Works officially revealed Slayer as the last DLC character for Guilty Gear Strive Season 3 in a new trailer.

After first debuting all the way back in 2002 with Guilty Gear XX, Slayer remained a consistent force to be reckoned with until Strive where he’s missed out on a few years of developments (in our world at least).

The former leader of the Assassin’s Guild used to be the only known Nightless character in the series until Nagoriyuki was unearthed by Happy Chaos, so it’s going to be interesting to see their interactions.

Though he is seemingly one of the most powerful characters in the world of Guilty Gear with a bunch of abilities, Slayer’s largely relied on teleporting and getting up in the face of his opponents to pressure them physically and make them guess what he’s going to do next.

This seems to stay somewhat true for his new iteration in Guilty Gear Strive as well, though he also comes equipped with some real powerhouse moves including one that goes so hard it even destroys most of his own clothing.

The trailer shows many moves reminiscent of Slayer’s classic appearances, suggesting he’ll be quite familiar to fans of the character, along with plenty of animations featuring his wife, Sharon.

A new stage will also be coming together with Slayer, named Amber Fest with Kind Neighbors.

It was also mentioned that there will be no balance changes coming with the Slayer update, but it was reiterated that Season 4 is upcoming and that there will be changes and new additions to the game once that rolls around.
